New pipelines/tanks/reservoirs or old one which are out for maintenance and exposed to contamination need disinfection before putting into service. AWWA standards C651 and C652 stipulates guidelines for these activities. As a prudent engineering practice storage reservoirs need to be cleaned periodically (1 to 3 years) and disinfected.
Is there high chlorine decay in storage sump?
- Analyze Chlorine Decay in WTP and recommend proper mix of disinfectants.
